charlie and the chocolate factory (2005)

some say that the film doesn’t turn out like what they had in mind. Concerning it’s tim burton’s and there’s johnny depp as well. Some of the things does not go with the book, and some just got totally different from gene wilder’s 1971. a friend of mine said that he got a lil bit dissapointed. He thought the end would be a dramatic change of charlie winning the factory, and instead, burton’s bring out wonka’s personal journey to discover a family.

After a lot of thinking, me too, at once, got a lil bit disapointed. I’ve read the book, watch the 1971’s version, and this one is way out of what I thought It would be. But then again, I go .. Hey! Every director have their own interpretation of the story, right?! A book is like life, you got new revelation every second of the way, each time you read it again.

But the movie also brings out burton’s dark character and depp’s psychotic atmosphere. At least that’s what I thought. The mix is wonderful. There’s something in every wonka’s grin, language, and gesture. Sometimes I wonder, what does wonka is really up to?! He’s like a guy with thousands of hidden agenda to put in motion.

But then again, there’s so much to see in this movie.. hail to one of my fav movie of the year!
